How to Decorate a Rattan Wreath: 4 Easy Ideas

By Noël & Hearth

Natural rattan wreaths in assorted sizes with dried orange slices

A natural rattan wreath is a blank canvas. With a few supplies, you can style it for a front door, a mantel or a holiday table in under 30 minutes.

What you'll need

  • An undecorated rattan wreath base (ours come in 3.9 to 11.8 in, round or heart-shaped)
  • Floral wire or a hot glue gun
  • Ribbon, greenery and small decorations of your choice

Idea 1: The classic bow

Tie a wide velvet or plaid ribbon into a generous bow and wire it to the bottom or top of the wreath. Leave the rattan bare everywhere else for a clean, modern look.

Idea 2: Dried citrus & greenery

Glue dried orange slices and short sprigs of faux pine or eucalyptus around one side of the wreath. The asymmetric crescent shape looks professional and lets the natural rattan show.

Idea 3: Mini ornaments

Hang or glue small ornaments into the weave. Flat wooden ornaments like our Wooden Santa & Hot Air Balloon Ornaments are light enough to attach with a dot of glue.

Idea 4: A string of lights

Wrap a battery-powered fairy light or LED ribbon light loosely around the wreath and tuck the battery box behind it. Perfect for a window or an indoor door.

Tips

  • Plan your layout on a table before gluing anything.
  • For heavy items, use floral wire instead of glue.
  • Small wreaths (3.9–5.9 in) make great napkin rings, place settings or gift toppers.

Start with a Natural Rattan Wreath in the shape and size you like.
